Quick oats, old-fashioned oats, steel cut oats, rolled oats. The oats market is booming. But you know what isn’t? Genetically modified oats — because they don’t exist.

Bob’s Red Mill Rolled Oats claim they are “non-GMO sourced” but the fact of the matter is that all oats are non-GMO sourced because there isn’t a genetically modified oat available. Sadly, it seems that many in the oats manufacturing world, including Quaker, have resorted to using fear marketing to remain competitive. Bob’s Red Mill says its packaging is clear so you can see the high-quality product they offer — so why aren’t they clear with the labeling that goes on the package?
As a company that “strives to build and maintain their consumers’ trust,” it’s a shame Bob’s Red Mill is using fear-based marketing to stay competitive.
It’s time for Bob’s Red Mill to stop stoking consumer fears and be as transparent as they say they are, beginning with their labeling. Show Bob’s Red Mill that you are through with their deceptive labeling by writing them a comment, tweeting at them or leaving them a message on Facebook.
