Beans, beans, they’re good for your heart. The more you eat the more you…depart from reality? This is the sad truth if you shop at Fresh Thyme, where they deceptively label their store-brand beans as being GMO-free. The fact is that no matter if they are black beans, pinto beans or kidney beans, Fresh Thyme’s beans – and any other dried beans in the store – are always GMO-free.
In order to set themselves apart from other brands, Fresh Thyme has resorted to marketing a distinction without a difference, confusing consumers by playing on their lack of knowledge, misconceptions or outright fears regarding the ingredients in their food.
Fresh Thyme says they want to sell food that “feeds your body without feasting on your wallet”, but the bogus Non-GMO Project label they plaster on their packaging adds a significant price premium. So while you are enjoying some beans, they are laughing all the way to the bank. That will give anyone heartburn.
Tell Fresh Thyme that now is the time for honest, transparent labeling by tweeting, posting to their Facebook or writing a message to them today.
